Druitt Hall is available for hire by groups and by individuals.

We favour hire to community groups, charities and family occasions, but commercial hires are also taken to support our work.

Once a hire is confirmed by us, the facility is reserved for the hirer's use as a private hire.

Your hire period MUST include for both entry/setting up AND clearing away/final exit.

Hirers on the premises outside of the time reserved will be liable to additional charges AND, more importantly, may:

  • result in misinformation to the emergency services
  • clash with Druitt Hall's ongoing maintenance, cleaning etc works (ie a safety issue!)
  • affect a fellow hirer
  • be outside our insurance cover.

For the full conditions of hire refer to our To Hire section.

When requesting a booking, you will confirm having read and accepted these terms.

News / Progress

Our booking, billing etc services are handled via the HallMaster system.

The Trustees have maintained hire charges for existing long-term hirers at 2023 levels for the time being.
This is reviewed on a quarterly basis and is inevitably going to be brought up to the rate charged to new hirers before much longer.

Through the efforts of DHCA's volunteers, 2023 was another successful year and is being repeated in 2024. The 2023 average lettings, over a 48 week period, were 37.5hrs per week and the footfall was at some 18,000 - 20,000 persons. This unpaid time results in our hire rates being substantially below a true commercial cost and is without subsidy from the public purse.

Although the process of providing the promised extended lease to DHCA is now in its 4th year, some real progress has been made in the last two months. A more positive approach from the Landlord following the appointment of Town Councillors Stuart Perry and Mike Cox in a liaising role has allowed real progress to be made.
We understand that the terms of the lease will be essentially those proposed by DHCA, which is contrary to a recent press report.
Issue of the lease will allow us to seek funding for further improvements to this facility.

Druitt Hall since 2012

Here are some recent photos showing how lovely the hall now looks. Come and see for yourself!

A short video showing the condition of the hall in 2012, before DHCA took on the lease, can be viewed on our History (Druitt Hall) page.

More video and photos are slowly being added to show exterior and interior conditions from 2013 onward, recording work on the extensive improvements carried out since then.

A more-recent video about a visit to Druitt Gardens (pre-dating work to the windows and cladding) can be found on very website here under Location.
