Druitt Hall is available for hire by groups and by individuals.

We favour hire to community groups, charities and family occasions, but some commercial hires are taken to support this facility.

Once we have confirmed your request to hire, the main hall, kitchen etc are reserved for your private use.
Entry by members of the general is then entirely at your discretion, according to the type of event or occasion you are mounting

Current events/availability

PLEASE NOTE the period you reserve MUST include the time you need for both setting up AND for clearing away.

Being on the premises earlier or later than your reserved times will result in additional charges to you AND, more importantly, may:

  • result in misinformation to the emergency services about occupancy
  • conflict with our improvement, maintenance, cleaning etc works (ie a safety issue!)
  • affect another hirer
  • be beyond our insurance cover.

We ask that you return the rooms and equipment to the condition in which you would wish to find them.
Any problems that you experience concerning cleanliness, safety etc will be gratefully received by us - we want to keep standards up!

When making a booking you will confirm having read and accepted the terms of hire (see our To Hire section).

THE FRIENDS OF DRUITT HALL

The 'Friends' group has been established to provide events at the hall and
for Members to meet socially and to have a say in how the facility is managed.
Some interesting occasional talks are planned along with other social events during the year.
DHCA Trustees Barbara and Sara look forward to welcoming more new members and to hearing your views on our facilities and functions.

The latest in the Friends' series of talks was on the 'Lost Buildings of Christchurch' by local historian Mike Andrews. The hall was filled near to capacity, and the talk was very much enjoyed by all. Thank you Mike!

A fascinating talk entitled "The House That Sat Down" by celebrated local author Alice May was held in April.
